the professional society for payroll professionals, as well as other
professionals who service and support the payroll industry. It has a membership
of more than 21,000 and continues to grow; illustrating its rising
significance.

was founded in 1982 to achieve the following objectives: |

To increase the Payroll’s skill level through education and mutual support.

To obtain recognition of payroll work as a professional discipline.

To represent the Payroll Professional on the federal, state and local levels.

the association’s inception, payroll professionals at all levels, as well as
Human Resource specialists, tax accountants, consultants and many others who
interface with payroll have taken advantage of their eligibility for

representing a diverse population of payroll professionals, predominantly
consisting of payroll managers, the

is comprised of memberships from all 50 US states, Washington D.C., and Puerto

professionals.

Payroll Career Certification
The
American Payroll Association
proudly offers two different payroll certifications:
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
and
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
Both designations assist in supporting the recognition of an individual as a
dedicated payroll professional.
